The Keeper

Image
The keeper of what????  I honestly have no idea,  but  when I finished painting this piece in November of 2011, it seemed like a good title.  A few months earlier, I was given a 24" X 24" canvas, and wanted to do something different with it's unique size.   Hung properly, this acrylic covers a 42" square of wall space.

The Raggedy Man

Image
October of this year was quite creative for me. That is when I painted this 24" X 30" acrylic.

Fire On The Mountain

Image
Have you ever sat by a campfire with with a friend , and just talked until the sun came up? If you have, I don't have to explain, and if you haven't, I couldn't begin to.   This 18" X 24" ink on acrylic was also painted October of 2011.

My Camp

Image
I used photos of the little lean-to, that was "my camp" in New York state, to guide me on this piece.   This acrylic was painted on a (very) old 21" cord saw blade in June of 2001.

Untitled

Image
May of 2011 was quite a creative month for me. This 12" X 30" laquered acrylic on pine has yet to be titled.

Fantasy

Image
I completed this acrylic in April of 2011, on a 12" X 16" flat canvas.

Naked Angel

Image
I painted and framed this simple piece in march of 2011 , also on a 12" x 16" flat canvas.

Chess Board

Image
We'll call this 20" X 28" piece of art a "functional wall-hanging". And I know it's functional, because a friend and I tried it out, and it worked just fine. (although I did lose the first game)

Cottage

Image
I drew this 16" x 20" piece in march of 2011.  it was drawn with six different colored ball-point pens.

Parcheesi Board

Image
My first wife loved to play Parcheesi..  Sometime in 2002 ( ? ) , I painted her this gameboard , and it served her well. She and I (and / or the kids) played many times on it.  after she left us in 2003, it was hung on the wall among her dolls in the up-stairs hall.  In February of this year, I took it down and completely restored it. It now hangs on display in my gallery, as a functional piece of art.

Girl With A Bolero

Image
 I painted this 16" x 20" acrylic in February of 2008.

halloween

Image
This haunting piece was quite literally brought back from the dead. I've recently traveled to Rome , New York, to say "good bye" to my mother (for the last time)... This piece was found among the piles of nick-nacks and doo-dads she'd collected over 70 or so years.  Broken in 2 or 3 places and covered with a blanket of dust, I brought it home and cleaned and repaired it.  I had marked it 1996, which brought about two points of interest...1: I created this piece while staying in San Diego, before moveing to live permanently into Pixley House.....and 2: It was made nearly a decade before this type of artwork was part of my repertoire.   This piece is on a 12" x 12" base and stands 14" high.

Elf House

Image
I created ELF HOUSE in March of 2007.  It is 28" wide, 15" deep and stands 17" high.

The Girl In The Woods

Image
Framed very much the same, this 20" x 24" acrylic is a "sequel" to  THE BOY IN THE WOODS.   This piece was painted in February of 2011.   (see older posts)

Untitled

Image
This 24" x 30" acrylic is still my personel favorite angel picture, (that I did) Ironicly, I never titled it , framed it, or even dated it.  I believe I painted this piece sometime in 2001. (give or take a year).

The Shootist

Image
What "guy's" place would be complete with out girls with guns?  I painted this acrylic on a 16" x 20" canvas, in March of 2004.

The Lady

Image
I painted this acrylic in one of my more "patriotic" moments.  Done on a 24" x 36" canvas, in May of 2010, THE LADY is one of my largest paintings.

Centerpiece

I  entitled this piece to go with it's intended function.   Created in February of 2011, This little piece is 11" x 6", and stands 14" high.

Artwork that requires electricty can be fun. I created this piece in February of 2007. It is 18" x 20" at it's largest spot, and stands 31" high.

Gunfighter

Image
GUNFIGHTER   Is a laquered acrylic on pine. This piece is 23" x 45" (over all), and completed in February of 2011, is my newest piece.

Visions

Image
Painted in September of 2000, this  20" x 24" acrylic is one of my earlier pieces from the "dark side."

Twenty-one

Image
This 24" x 30" acrylic has two stories to it's creation.  Story 1)  Ever get a song stuck in your head? .. In this case, it was the song  "Twenty-one", off the Eagles' Desporado album. story 2) A bit before I painted this piece in October of 2003, one of my daughters asked me "how come you don't ever paint guy angles?"  I put the two ideas together, and this was the result.

DollHouse

Image
This unique doll house is not displayed in my gallery, although it is certainly a work of art.   Both my first wife (Doris), and my grand mother, were avid collectors of dolls and doll related paraphernalia.  I built this "one of a kind" doll house on a 24" x 40" base. It stands 26" high, and was built to scale for standard doll house furniture. (1 inch = 1 foot).  "Construction" was compeleted in 2001, and it has been displayed or advertised (via flyer) many times since.........To no avail..  This little house waits in the up-stairs hall at Pixley House, in the company of the remnants of   Doris and Greta Pixley's doll collections.  Like all the artwork displayed in my gallery, this too is for sale at a negotiatable price.  Please go to  > pixleyhousegallery@yahoo.com <to request more information.                 ...

Dragon Lady

Image
In October of 2003, I painted  DRAGON LADY  on a 16" x 20" flat canvas.
